How-To: RSS Feed
In summary; RSS is a system whereby via a simple link, you can get alerted to a digital newsletter as often - or not often - as you'd like. And we have one!
Atom is a similar technology to RSS, though not what I'm using for this website. Most RSS readers are also Atom readers and vice-versa.
Sadly, while most web browsers have historically had RSS readers and feeds built-in, all major browsers have since lost this functionality. As such, to take advantage of this awesome technology, you will need a dedicated RSS reader application.
Some RSS readers I'd recommend:
Linux, Windows, Mac, Android, FreeBSD
Open-source
My preferred method. Primarily an email-reading application, Thunderbird also has RSS functionality, alongside lots of other neat features like IRC and Matrix chats. Made by the good folks at Mozilla, the developers of the Firefox web browser!
Linux, Android
Open-source
A simple RSS application developed by KDE. Good for people who only want it for a couple of things.
Linux, Windows, Mac, Android
Closed-source
The only modern web browser to my knowledge that retains RSS functionality. Made by a group of ex-Opera employees, it retains Opera's extremely functional design while being independent of their...questionable business practices. It's closed-source software with no current plans to go open-source and based on Chromium, however, so do be wary - things could change at any time, and what works today may not work tomorrow.
To subscribe to our feed, simply copy this link and paste it into the RSS viewer of your choice. It's an open standard, so you're free to pick and choose what you use.
